    it’s not overrated. Even though he didn’t learn music theory, he’s still using it by playing the scale and playing it in key. He just learned differently.

    @HARRYD0649 he’s not supposed to hold your hand and walk you through it, he’s gonna give you some steps, tips , and pointers and it’s your job as a guitarist to practice it and come up with new ways to express your musical style. After all, when Marty was learning he was self taught, and he didn’t have computers to look up scales or chords etc. He used what he knew and expanded on it.
